๐Ÿ‘€ What Weโ€™re Watching For

The numbers. The matchups. And the trends that could shape your fantasy Sunday.

๐Ÿน CHIEFS @ DOLPHINS

๐Ÿ“Š The numbers: Miami has scored just 13 points in each of its first two games. Even more concerning, Malik Willis has been under pressure on 43.1% of his dropbacks, while Miami has allowed an NFL-high 15.3% sack rate. NFL

Kansas City enters 2-0, and Patrick Mahomes gets a Miami defense that hasn’t shown it can consistently stop opposing offenses. The Chiefs will be without LT Josh Simmons, while Miami has Caleb Douglas out and Jaylen Wright doubtful. Kansas City Chiefs

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Can Miami keep this competitive enough to give Mahomes, Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy four quarters of volume? And if the Dolphins fall behind, De’Von Achane’s receiving work could become even more valuable.

๐Ÿพ PANTHERS @ BROWNS

Carolina might be one of Sunday’s hardest teams to figure out after two drastically different defensive performances.

Now they’re missing Devin Lloyd, who just produced 9 tackles, a sack, two INTs and three pass breakups in Week 2. Fellow LB Claudin Cherelus is also out. CBS Sports

That’s important against a Cleveland offense that may have an opportunity to attack the middle of Carolina’s defense.

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Cleveland’s RB distribution. Don’t just count carriesโ€”watch red-zone touches, targets and third-down snaps. Those will tell us far more about this backfield going forward.

โœˆ๏ธ JETS @ LIONS

Here’s the clash:

Jets defense: allowing only 197 yards per game and 4.0 yards per play.

But Geno Smith has been pressured on 43.4% of his dropbacks, one of the NFL’s highest rates. Detroit doesn’t need to blitz recklessly if it can win up front.

The Lions’ secondary, however, is depleted: Avonte Maddox is out for the season and Thomas Harper is out today. CBS Sports

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Can Detroit reach Geno before he exploits the weakened secondary?

If the Jets can score, that’s also good news for the other side: it keeps Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown attacking instead of Detroit shutting things down late.

๐Ÿค  TEXANS @ COLTS

Here’s a wild number:

Indianapolis has surrendered 1,029 yards through two gamesโ€”the second-most through two games in NFL history. NFL

But Houston has a major problem:

Nico Collins โ€” OUT.

Last week without Collins, Houston scored only six points, but Dalton Schultz exploded for 140 receiving yards. No other Texan reached 38. CBS Sports

Indianapolis is also without Alec Pierce.

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Houston should have opportunities against this defenseโ€”but who gets them?

Another big Schultz target share would be meaningful evidence that his Week 2 explosion wasn’t a fluke.

For Indy, Pierce’s absence could further concentrate the offense around Jonathan Taylor, Tyler Warren and Josh Downs.

๐Ÿ† PATRIOTS @ JAGUARS

This is one where the personnel is worth watching.

Jakobi Meyers is now a Jaguar, and he’ll face his former Patriots team today. He’s off the injury report after dealing with a thumb injury. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville also has Brian Thomas Jr. and Parker Washington, giving Trevor Lawrence multiple ways to attack New England.

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Does Jacksonville finally get Meyers more involved? He’s played plenty of snaps but has only three catches through two games. Rotoballer

On New England’s side, I’m watching TreVeyon Henderson’s high-value opportunitiesโ€”routes, targets, third downs and red-zone workโ€”more than his raw carry total.

โšก CHARGERS @ BILLS

Buffalo enters with a major target-distribution question.

Keon Coleman โ€” QUESTIONABLE
DJ Moore โ€” QUESTIONABLE

Both were limited Friday and are game-time decisions. CBS Sports Racing

That matters when Josh Allen is the guy distributing those opportunities.

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: If either WR is limited or out, where do Allen’s targets go?

Dalton Kincaid is especially interesting.

And don’t overlook the other side. If the Chargers can score and sustain drives, Buffalo can’t simply lean on its running game with a lead.

โš”๏ธ TITANS @ GIANTS

New York lost Jaxson Dart to a season-ending knee injury, completely changing the Giants’ offensive outlook. CBS Sports Racing

Tennessee brings another major fantasy variable:

Tyjae Spears โ€” QUESTIONABLE.

He missed Wednesday and Thursday before getting in limited work Friday. Tony Pollard will play. CBS Sports

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Pollard’s workload.

If Spears can’t goโ€”or is clearly limitedโ€”Pollard suddenly has a much clearer path toward feature-back volume.

For New York, watch how the quarterback change affects the aggressiveness of the passing game.

๐Ÿ… BENGALS @ STEELERS

Here’s some history that actually matters.

Bengals LT Orlando Brown Jr. has allowed pressure on 13% of his pass-blocking snaps against Pittsburgh across 13 career meetingsโ€”his worst rate against any opponent with at least 100 pass-blocking snaps.

Since joining Cincinnati, that number jumps to 15.1%.

And Pittsburgh’s Alex Highsmith has generated 24 pressures against Brown, including 16 quick pressures. NFL

That’s meaningful for Joe Burrow.

Pittsburgh also has Rico Dowdle out and Jaylen Warren questionable, while WR Michael Pittman Jr. is questionable. Cincinnati WR Andrei Iosivas is out. CBS Sports

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: If Pittsburgh creates quick pressure, Cincinnati may have to live on shorter throws.

That could mean plenty of Ja’Marr Chase, but also more opportunities underneath for Chase Brown, Samaje Perine and Mike Gesicki.

๐ŸŒŠ SEAHAWKS @ COMMANDERS

This matchup changed substantially when Jayden Daniels was ruled OUT.

Marcus Mariota starts. Since joining Washington in 2024, he’s completed 64.1% of his passes with 15 TDs against seven INTs. CBS Sports

Unfortunately for him, Seattle’s defense has been outstanding: the Seahawks are one of only five defenses since 2010 to allow fewer than 20 points and fewer than 4.0 yards per play through their first two games. NFL

And Sam Darnold returns for Seattle today. NFL

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: The game script for Kenneth Walker.

If Seattle gets ahead and its defense keeps Washington from sustaining drives, Walker could pile up second-half opportunities.

Darnold’s return also matters for JSN and the entire Seattle passing game.

๐ŸŒต CARDINALS @ 49ERS

San Francisco is 2-0, but there’s a major change defensively:

Nick Bosa โ€” OUT.

Kyle Shanahan acknowledged Bosa could miss multiple weeks, and IR has even been discussed. CBS Sports

That’s relevant for Arizona’s passing attack.

More time in the pocket means more opportunity for Trey McBride and Michael Wilson to get into their routes.

On San Francisco’s side, Demarcus Robinson is out and Mike Evans is questionable. CBS Sports

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: How much does Bosa’s absence improve Arizona’s passing environment?

And with San Francisco thinner at receiver, watch whether Christian McCaffrey’s receiving workload grows.

๐ŸŸฃ VIKINGS @ BUCCANEERS

Kyler Murray is back for Minnesota.

He’s cleared concussion protocol and will start today. NFL

But one of my favorite numbers of the week is on the other side.

Baker Mayfield vs. the blitz:

2026: 68.8% success rate โ€” 2nd among qualified QBs.
2025: 39.3% โ€” 3rd worst. NFL

That’s extremely relevant against a Brian Flores defense.

And Aaron Jones progressed all the way to a full Friday practice and carries no injury designation. CBS Sports

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Is Baker’s enormous improvement against pressure real?

And for Minnesota, how quickly does Jones reclaim his high-value RB touches with Murray back under center?

โ˜ ๏ธ RAIDERS @ SAINTS

Las Vegas has done something pretty impressive without its best tight end.

Kirk Cousins is tied for the NFL lead with six TD passes, while the Raiders defense ranks fifth in scoring and leads the league with a 45.6% pressure rate. NFL

And now Brock Bowers could make his season debut.

He’s officially questionable after limited practices Wednesday and Thursday and a planned Friday DNP. CBS Sports

New Orleans counters with Tyler Shough, whose early connection with Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele and Juwan Johnson has been one of the more interesting developments through two weeks. NFL

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: If Bowers plays, don’t obsess over his fantasy points.

Watch snaps, routes and targets.

Those numbers will tell us whether he’s truly back.

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท RAVENS @ COWBOYS

52.5 points.

That’s the highest game total on today’s slate. NFL

And the names explain why:

Lamar Jackson. Derrick Henry.
Dak Prescott. CeeDee Lamb. George Pickens.

Dak just threw for 279 yards and four TDs against Washington. NFL

Baltimore also had difficulty containing Chris Olave late last week. Now the Ravens have to deal with Lamb and Pickens.

The major Baltimore question is Zay Flowers, who’s questionable with a hamstring injury. LT Ronnie Stanley is out. CBS Sports Racing

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: The entire game environment.

If both offenses start quickly, this could produce huge volume on both sides.

And if Flowers is limited or out, watch where Lamar’s targets get redistributed.

๐ŸŒ™ RAMS @ BRONCOS

The Rams’ backfield numbers are almost identical:

Kyren Williams โ€” 23 carries, 126 yards, 5.5 YPC, TD
Blake Corum โ€” 22 carries, 133 yards, 6.0 YPC
NFL

That’s about as close to an even rushing split as you’ll find.

Then there’s the bigger receiving story:

Puka Nacua โ€” DOUBTFUL.

Last week without Puka, Matthew Stafford threw four TDs, while Davante Adams erupted for 195 yards and two TDs and Terrance Ferguson caught six passes for 54 yards and a TD. CBS Sports

Denver’s backfield has changed too: Jonah Coleman is out, while J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are cleared to play. CBS Sports

๐Ÿ‘€ What we’re watching: Three things:

1๏ธโƒฃ Does Stafford pepper Adams again without Puka?
2๏ธโƒฃ Can Williams or Corum finally separate?
3๏ธโƒฃ Who gets Denver’s high-value touches with Coleman out?

๐Ÿ”ฅ THE BIG QUESTIONS TODAY

Can Mahomes take advantage of Miami’s struggling defense?
Does Dalton Schultz’s huge role continue without Nico?
Can Geno beat Detroit’s depleted secondary before the pressure arrives?
Does Pollard get feature-back volume?
Where do Josh Allen’s targets go if Buffalo’s WRs are limited?
Can Baker keep beating the blitz?
Does Bowers return to a real workload?
Does Ravens-Cowboys turn into the shootout the 52.5 total suggests?
And does anyone finally separate in the Rams backfield?

Those are the numbers, matchups and trends we’re watching this Sunday.
