Not every injury requires an IR stint to wreck a fantasy lineup.
Several major fantasy players entered the second half of the week with legitimate availability concerns.
🔴 LADD McCONKEY — RIBS
McConkey missed practice Wednesday and Thursday because of the rib injury he suffered in Week 1.
Fantasy Fallout: If McConkey can’t play, Quentin Johnston becomes especially interesting as we look for where Justin Herbert’s targets go.
Beyond the ADP Take: Johnston’s ceiling changes considerably if McConkey is inactive.
🔴 ZAY FLOWERS — HAMSTRING
Flowers erupted for 150 yards and a touchdown before aggravating his hamstring in Week 1 and subsequently missed Wednesday and Thursday practice.
Baltimore’s receiving situation is now one fantasy managers need to monitor closely.
Fantasy Fallout: Rashod Bateman becomes much more interesting if Flowers sits, while Mark Andrews could also see additional opportunities.
🔴 BROCK BOWERS — KNEE
Bowers continues to deal with his knee issue heading into Week 2.
Fantasy Fallout: If Bowers plays, we’re starting him. If he doesn’t, Michael Mayer immediately becomes a short-term TE option worth considering.
🟠 NICO COLLINS — HAMSTRING
This may be the most important new injury we’re monitoring.
Collins injured his hamstring during Wednesday’s practice and then missed Thursday.
Fantasy Fallout: Houston’s entire passing-game hierarchy becomes more interesting if Collins can’t play.
👀 THE BOTTOM LINE
🔴 McConkey
🔴 Flowers
🔴 Bowers
🟠 Collins
Don’t set your Week 2 lineup and forget about it.
Friday’s final practice reports and official game designations could change several fantasy decisions.
